In the story The Christmas Hunt written by Borden Deal the theme is don't hide from your mistakes, learn from them and good will come out of it. We first see conflict when Tom can't go on the hunt. Then it gets worse when Tom shoots his dog. He solves this by telling his dad he doesn't deserve a bike and then his dad says “look inside the car”. When he looked inside the car out came a new hunting dog which made Tom very happy. That is why I think the theme is don't hide from your mistakes, learn from them and good will come out of
