Live Production Analysis - Chorus Line

The play written by Michael Bennett , The Chorus Line, was phenomenal!
I watched the high school adaptation, which was performed by the Stockdale High School Performance Theater, on March 10, 2018. The astounding musical play consisted of a variety of songs that all were sung beautifully by the cast, different dance numbers, and an impressive lively ending which fired up the audience. Even from the beginning, the entire cast started off with a strong introduction as two powerhouse lead singers sang their hearts out in the song “I Hope I Get It.” Overall, the live production was an amazing representation of what hardwork and perseverance can do. To begin with, one aspect that I enjoyed in the live

For example, there was a scene in the middle of the play called Montage 3. In this scene, characters talked over each other in an attempt to create humor. Although, this just created confusion in the audience because some actors were not heard or the dialogue did not make sense. In addition, there was not a leading antagonist or conflict throughout the play. It was not made clear what the conflict was until towards the ending of the performance. However, I respect that the actors tried the best of their capacity to end the scene smoothly.
In summary, the play was a tremendous example of the high level high school actors can reach. Each and every member of the cast did the best of their ability to ensure their voice was clear, and their emotions were believable. This play was very captivating and kept me interested the whole time. Chorus Line has truly impressed me since in my opinion, the Stockdale Mustangs were closely up to par to those plays in Broadway! I absolutely would recommend others to watch this play because it provides a lot of entertainment and valuable insight on the lives of

I think they were successful because they added comedy, which made it fun to watch and easier to understand. The play was so well written that everything just came together. Also, I believe the goal was to keep the audience on their ties to include them into the play so it could seem like we were n a journey with them. In this way the author makes sure he engages the audience so they wouldn’t be left behind. Yes, overall I do think the artist achieved their goal.…

This produced much laughter from the audience and it was difficult for Eugene and I to hold back our laughter. The stage crew also appreciated my company and thought I was accomplishing an excellent job in the play. Perhaps the most noteworthy friend I made was Mr. Schaefer himself. Mr. Schaefer assisted me extensively while we rehearsed for the play. When I possessed difficulty speaking my lines clearly he taught me how to speak them more clearly and gradually.…

Project 5 Reflection 1. What did I notice about how believable and relatable I was in this performance? I felt that the energy and enthusiasm I brought to the stories helped make my performance believable and relatable. I tried to include Broadway fan snippets in each story to help bring that relatability through the script and through the delivery. For example, the “not throwing away his shot” line about Lin Manual-Miranda, which is a snippet from a song from Hamilton.…

There were many guests singing along with every song during the show. The audience appeared to be caught up in the moment and loving the musical. The production/playwright wanted to bring the popular 1980’s Dirty Dancing movie to the big stage and they did an amazing job. The musical was definitely a huge hit and was worth every penny spent to produce it. I was amazed by this musical, not only because I love the movie but also because they brought the movie to life on stage.…

The performance meant a lot to me because it gave me a whole new perspective in the importance of dancing. The dance represented a familiar scenario which I recognized in professional theaters. This was worth my money and time because I was amused and thrilled with new content. The theme of the dance was easy to recognize because of the performers body language and visual appearance. It basically let me know whether it was dark or happy themed.…

Though I had to work hard to get the job done, it was a very enjoyable experience and I am excited to take on my role in the next production of The Wizard of Oz. Two particular actors who played the characters of “Andrew Jackson” and “Rachel” did a fantastic job. The actor who played “Andrew Jackson” did a great job of remembering all of his lines and important factual information he had to retain. In addition, he added a “spunk” feel to Andrew Jackson making him feel more modern and “hip”. I personally think that “spunk” allowed me to relate to him more. Furthermore, the actress who played “Rachel” did a fantastic job of staying into character even in the scenes that she was not on stage and in the crowd.…
