Growing up was not easy for me. Everyday I woke up thinking about the possible wrongs that can happen. My living situation was very unstable. We moved place to place and never stayed in the same house for no more than 3 years. We always moved in a 3 bedroom house with 5 children including myself. She struggled to take care of us. My English teacher became the most motivational person I knew. She helped me understand that I am here to leave my legacy and pushed the class as a whole to be great. She believed in me and she was the only person that believed in me. She gave me hope to know that I am going to finish high school strong and go to college.
I began to look into universities and I noticed that college was very expensive. So then I looked into scholarships because I knew my dad couldn 't pay for me to go to college. My father has 8 children that he has to take care of and I was willing to find any way to pay for college. I soon started a job to help out around the house. I paid my own phone bill to help my father out with all the expenses. There was a time when I gave up my whole check to pay a bill.
I was working and going to school. I managed to do both at the same time and maintain a 3.7 GPA. Many people in my class asked me how I was able to do it and I told them faith. My English teacher was so proud of me and I was proud myself that I was able to do it by myself. At the end of the year she told everyone that she was leaving. It broke my heart because I didn 't know how I was going to make it through everything. She was like my second mom and I needed that motivation to get me through high school. She gave me her email and phone number so I can contact her in need. She soon left and promised to come back and visit
