When recognizing a clients culture and values that enhance privilege and power it is important as the social worker to understand and identify the clients problems such as, gender, race, color, sexual orientation, age if they have a disability and even religion. Being able to engage with them as they continue to become more educated and understand things is very rewarding. Working with the preschoolers I also found to be much more challenging, the children are at the stage where they are very headstrong in their decisions. Addressing issues to the children can be very challenging when they are upset.
In the article Hope Theory, it talked about the importance of goal-directed energy. It is important to keep a positive vibe when working with the children, to have a goal directed energy and keep working towards meeting the goals you have set.
