The Chew is a television show consisting of five panelists that focus on different topics in the world, but their main focus is teaching viewers to make wonderful meals that taste as good as they look. On one of my many visits to Ryan's, I ordered the fried chicken meal with a side of French fries and mashed potatoes that tasted so delicious. Before serving me, the waiter let me know that if I preferred my food without salt to just let him know. I really appreciated that because I suffer from high blood pressure and I have to be careful with certain foods. Also, Ryan's has appetizers can be eaten while the food is being

The Gourmet Problem Reading “Today’s Special” by David Sedaris made me realize that I not only agree with his disdain of gourmet food and its seeming takeover of normal restaurants with normal food but also that I am a food snob. First of all, when I order a traditional meal of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans, I expect the meatloaf not to be mixed with prunes and drowning in a peach sauce accompanied by mashed potatoes made with cauliflower –where’s the potatoes?- and vanilla green bean amandine. Then I realized that while others are snobbish about ‘normal, boring food’, I am a reverse food snob. Food does not have to be bland…

Study #1 Article Title: It’s Not Just About Salivating Dogs! Author: Ivan Pavlov Date of Study: 1927 Hypothesis: Ivan Pavlov believed that if a dog was exposed to a specific stimulus while being fed, the dog’s brain would associate the stimulus with the food; due to this association, the stimulus alone would prompt the dogs to salivate. Variables: The independent variables, or the variables being manipulated and tested, are the various stimuli that Pavlov used to ingrain a response in the dogs: the ticking of metronome, footsteps, the scent of vanilla, a rotating object. The dependent variable, or the variable measured and tested, is the presence of salivation in response to a neutral stimulus after the dogs have been conditioned to associate the stimulus with food.…

Eating animals has been a regular meal for humans for many centuries, but it has also been opposed by veganists for many years. Although consuming animals has been opposed by vegan aficionados, it has also been a source of controversy because of how factory farming produces the meat we eat in our daily meals. In the book “Eating Animals” we get the sense that the author will be arguing and encouraging veganism, but instead he argues about how the meat we consume is produced. The author Jonathan Safran Foer’s main claim in the book is about boycotting animal factory farming and encouraging traditional husbandry because factory farm animals are stuffed with antibiotics, mutilated, tightly confined, and deprived of stimulation. While traditional…
