Then, one hot afternoon when the sun was bursting it rays so bright that the heat was untakeable. Samira and I were inside the tent, and I was braiding her hair when all of a sudden she whispered “Prisha… lets go to the river for a swim”. I turned to look at her and said “we can’t everyone is out hunting and gathering food, we can’t be a lone remember .” I knew as soon as she turned to look at me that what I said didn’t matter . We both decided to sneak away from the tribe for a few minutes before they came back. As we got to the river I remember thinking what was the big deal of us not being alone if there was no one but us around, I didn’t feel scared or nervous at all. We swam and played around with each other, when all of a sudden we started to hear the sound of sticks cracking getting closer and closer to the river. Now we thought that it was the tribe from hunting so we ignored it. We continued to swim around for a while ,but then I started to get the feeling as of someone was watching us. In the corner of my eye I saw someone! I turned to my sister and said “shh”. While remaining I felt scared deep down . We stood there and looked at him from across the river. I couldn’t help but to have a terrible gut feeling that nothing good would come from this man. The worst was yet to come, and all we could do was to wait, and see when he would come back. Our father had told us to not be alone and I finally knew that we were not the only ones here on this land
