The Cheesecake Factory is one of my preferred places to go, so you be able to imagine how psyched I was when I finally realized that with a little elbow grease I could cook my favorite dishes at house.

I started by doing a little explore for authentic Cheesecake Factory restaurant recipes. This seemed to be the logical first step, right? Wrong. I immediately hit a snag when some dissimilar recipes for the similar dish popped up on my screen. Which one do I choose? How do I know its the right one? If you’ve ever tasted any of their food, you would certainly agree this effort would be worth it. I chose a few recipes that looked the most promising, based on components and reviews, and started baking.

The original recipe included basic ingredients such as milk, eggs, and butter. Nevertheless, the need for a longer shelf life forced the company to use ingredients like bleached wheat flour, sugar from sugar cane, and sugar beets. Colonial cuisine was heavily influenced by the English at first, but soon developed its own style. Much of the food that was available in the colonies was uncommon in Great Britain and other areas of Europe, which led to adaptation problems with many of the people. The colonists did not have the equipment that people in Europe did, which led to new techniques and unique utensils.
