These kids are being handed out a test and already thinking that they are going to flunk. Most are nervous or guilty and don’t want to get caught cheating. “ Mr. White gives Katie a squinty face” (7). Sarah starts to think about how “sweet that this boy she barely knew gave her the answers to the midterm test out of the blue” (5). Rob is feeling lucky that he’s not going to struggle on this test this time and that “taking this test is changing my luck” (10).
