I am a tolerant person at heart and this was proved on several occasions during class discussions and extracurricular activities. I am more than ready to listen to the views of others, even when I do not agree with them at all. This is because I understand that nobody always has the right answers, including myself. I am therefore receptive to other opinions because it allows me to view the situation from different perspectives and this eventually leads to effective solutions being found. These personality traits have emerged more clearly in recent years as I gained a better understanding of the different personalities in people. My personality as a protagonist highlights my previous experience of ending up in leadership roles like Advanced Practice Registered Nursing (APRN) without intentionally seeking such roles. My assertive, outgoing, positive and open nature leads to other people seeing me as a person who can provide guidance going forward and this has led to me being put in positions where I am required to make difficult leadership decisions. I believe that brining people closer together lead to many other problems being solved and this will be adopted in my future career path as I showcase my genuine desire to do good for the community. In advanced practice registered nursing, this is a crucial attribute because I will be able to consider the views of patients and their relatives, family and friends among others. There will be situations whereby they will not agree with the decisions or actions taken by doctors and nurses involved and I am prepared mentally for these dissenting opinions.
