Pedophilia is a mental disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences sexual attraction toward prepubescent children. There is a fine line between a pedophile and a child molester. Pedophiles have intense and reoccurring sexual urges toward children and fantasies about them which causes distress. As for child molesters, they act upon the sexual urge towards kids. Pedophilia is also a psychosexual disorder. The fantasy or act of engaging in sexual activities with an adolescent is preferred and achieving sexual excitement or gratification.

The pedophile often seeks out a withdrawn, shy, or handicapped child that often comes from a troubled or underprivileged home. They often shower them with attention or gifts, and provoke the kids with trips to desirable places. Amusement parks, zoos, and concerts are just a few examples.
Many times pedophiles will develop close relationships with a single parent in order to get close to their child. Once inside the home, they have a better opportunity to manipulate the child. Using guilt, fear, or even love to confuse them are just a few tactics often used. If the child’s parent is at work it offers the pedophile private time needed to abuse them.
It’s not unusual for the child to develop feelings for their predator, often desiring approval and / or acceptance. It compromises their ability to decipher good and bad behavior. There are numerous reasons why molestation happens. Sexual abuse can happen because the female wants comfort, relationship needs, desires power, or even just for sexual gratification.
Most women are motivated by intimacy needs and usually just want to feel close to someone. Female sex offenders challenge those notions, which is why a lot of people struggle to believe these things.
