Human nature involves the ways of thinking, feelings, and behavioral traits among human kind. The book, Lord of The Flies, by William Golding and the story of a serial killer named Jeffrey Dahmer both share similar traits when you think about how they affect “human nature” or how they affect society. For instance, Jeffrey Dahmer has the mind-set of Roger, he enjoys killing people and shows no mercy for them. "He talks about killing people just as if it 's like pouring a glass of water," says Deputy Chief Robert Due of the West Allis Police Department in suburban Milwaukee. "He shows no emotion whatsoever." (Secrets of a Serial Killer) Jeffrey can relate to Jack also because at first he was a decent boy. He then became ill (savagery) due to problems in his personal life. Jack became angry whenever things didn’t go his way. He would shun whoever interferes with his plans. Jack maybe was spoiled and was used to getting everything he wanted. Another similarity that Lord of the Flies and Jeffrey both share is that they have an interest in animals. Jack and his followers wanted to kill a pig and when they finally did they placed the corpse’s head on a stick. Jeffrey never killed animals, but he also placed an animal’s head on a stick. The boys and Jeffrey act very much alike. They both were very sadistic and cruel to others just for the satisfaction and pleasure for themselves.
