You are a counselor, mentor, parent, and friend to the child. They work with troubled teens and support them in their most crucial years of their lives. The worker can start activities and events for the students or clients. I have chosen to research a child and youth worker because I want to help students, take after what my parents do, and go deeper into a child’s mind.

One of the most important trait you should have is to be a good listener. You need to be able to listen to the children’s issues and try to understand the things they are going through. Allowing them to know you are listening is an good factor because that way they know you are trustworthy. Depending on the situation will really reflect how your character should be. Different situations will lead you to that spot if for example, a child is disrespecting you in a way will lead you to have to discipline them. Having to be there for a child means you are meeting with them constantly Seanad checking up on them. This means that parents are dropping their kids off to be with you and you need them to trust you with their child. Being trustworthy means to keep a clean record and to stay out of trouble. When a child is depressed or just down, try to be gentle with them and help them understand that you are there for them and that you are on their side. But, at activities and the times you are having fun you have to be enthusiastic and energetic. Having this traits will allow the child to feel the same was. You need to be physically and emotionally healthy for this job. You need to have a desire to help people. You need to be a good listener to he kids you speak with.
