The young lady that I am interviewing is, Emily Goldyn, and she is a sophomore Mercy Scholar who not only a student at Mount Aloysius College, but continually exhibits the core values, in which, the college believes, in her daily life. By being a Mercy scholar, the qualities of a servant leader are already instilled into you.
When you are the head of a project, do you use management or leadership skill to complete the project?
Emily believes she uses both servant leadership and management when heading a project. She uses management because she believes, she is a little bossy and isn’t compassionate when giving details. The …show more content…
When Emily is dealing with the swim club, she is establishing new ideas because it was non-existent when she was a freshman. Emily’s role in resident hall association is to represent a wide variety of people, in which she has to represent everyone in the halls, not just herself.
In your own words, what is the title of a “servant leader” to you?
A servant leader is someone who cares for the people they are leading and also participates in the projects they are leading. They are someone that creates a genuine connection with their workers while managing to meet a goal.
In your opinion, what qualities do you think make a person a servant leader?
This person needs to show compassion, empathy, intelligence, honesty, analytical skills, love, and commitment. They need to be able to take charge and not care what people think of them.
Do you believe you are a servant leader?
Emily believes she is a servant leader because she is not afraid of a challenge and when in a group, she normally takes the lead position. Emily has the ability to communicate with others very efficiently with great effectiveness.
