The title of the play comes from two of the real estate properties that are in the play which are Glen Ross Farms which is mentioned several of time by multiple characters as being very profitable for those who selling it multiple years ago. So to get back at Mitch and Murray he has a couple tricks up his sleeve to get back at them by stealing all of the best leads and then selling them to a competitor. Moss seeks out a partner in crime and his first thought was Aaronow but then changes his mind when he persuades Levene to work with him in selling the leads to a competitor he knows that goes by the name of Jerry Graff. During an outburst his anger reveals that he is envies of his fellow salesmen and has decided to go to Wisconsin to avoid any other questions and suspicions. Baylen is the detective who appears in the last act to investigate the office break in and interrogate each of the employees. Mitch and Murry are characters that are always spoken about but never seen or heard, they own of the real estate agency and think that having a sales contest is a good idea to try to give them an incentive to do well with their leads but it starts to put a lot of stress on the employees to produce more or they will lose their jobs but only the performers will get a rewarded at the
