In addition, people from the designated groups are likely to be hired for temporary positions in a company such as women, people with visible minorities, and immigrants. Employers are hiring these workers because it lowers their labor cost but it is invaluable for the employee. This also results in the violation of the employment equity act because once again, equality has not been followed. There are opposing views to my opinion because precarious employees are not on a permanent basis and these laws and regulation are only for permanent employees. Contrary to this, I believe that even if employees are working for a temporary time, they are still doing very similar work if not the same work as other employees in the company. Therefore, I believe that if it is possible to hire employees temporarily to get work done, then there should be a possibility to get temporary benefits. It is well understood that the benefits and compensation given to these employees will be different from the permanent employees but it will still give precarious workers a sense of security for the time being. The government should work around this and form laws for precarious workers.
