Many face the ongoing challenges of poverty time and time again, and although there has been process made people still find themselves forced into uncomfortable situations due to impoverishment. Living in a world ran by image, and class one can see as to why poverty is seen as the lack of brand and materials. According to dictionary.com poverty is “the state or condition of having little or no money, goods or means of support” (Dictionary, 2016). Jo Goodwin parker author of what is poverty? Demos.org reports “economic insecurities has become the ongoing conditions for far too many U.S households in 2010, less than in three American households 32% reported having sufficient emergency funds, down from 38% in 2007 19% of working age households reported having no assets or negative wealth”(…). As a consequence, the middle class has less opportunity to get ahead because of lesser jobs and having an income that isn’t expandable. Class isn’t the only factor to poverty but racial disparities play a factor as well. Over the course of time, racial groups have been separated because of media and government has stemmed the division of poverty. In T.M Scanlon’s article The Biggest 4 reasons why inequality is bad for society Scanlon believes “economic inequality makes it difficult if not impossible to create equality of opportunity income equality means that some children will enter the workforce much better prepared than others, and people with few assets find it harder to access the first small steps to larger opportunities, such as a loan to start a business or pay for an advance degree”(…). The expenses of opportunity are expensive especially when one is struggling to make ends
