The aim of being a parent is to do the best you can for your child. The parents of transgender children have very tough decisions to make in regards to their children’s future. The children are in pain because they are not seen as what they are or who they are. There were numerous stories of anatomical boys who mentally were girls and vice versa. This film tries to illustrate the challenges that both the children and the parents face as being a pioneer generation of transgender youths.
At such an early age, it is very hard for parents to choose to have their children start cross sex hormones or puberty blockers. There are many unique challenges involved in being a pioneer generation of transgender youth. The medicine that the children need in order to block puberty is very expensive and none of it is approved for

Being transgender, it may be hard for your peers to accept you. Ariel was very criticized by her peers when she changed from male to female. She transferred schools and made new friends who were very accepting. Ariel is able to tell her friends what is going on in her life without fear and she is able to share the experience of being a young girl. At first, her friends did not know that she is transgender. They benefit by being more educated on the topic of transgender youths and simply by having her friendship. Ariel and her friends mutually benefit by having each other care for one another for who they truly are.
Alex’s friends help teach him to act like a guy. They give him dating advice and simply spend time with him. In the video, Alex was frequently with his friends. When Alex has a rough day, his friends are there to cheer him up and have an open mind. They support his decisions and his lifestyle. Much like Ariel’s friends, Alex’s friends benefit from his friendship. They too become more educated on transgender youths and learn to be accepting of
