High school students usually find school to be time-consuming because attendance is required. Students in high school do not have the flexibility of choosing when they want their classes. This means that students must plan things around the required school schedule. Students also have more homework in high school. High school teachers require students to do extra work outside of class so that students can understand the material without the teacher’s guidance. The homework given in high school may be done partially at school, but many times students have homework in multiple subjects. Many students may also ride the bus, meaning that they may spend up to two hours getting to and from school each day. The long bus ride and massive amount of homework can cut into family time at home. College students also believe that school is time-consuming, but the majority of their work is done outside of class. College students rarely get guided work.
