The Cave lions natural habitat was in the Woodlands and mountains of Eurasia. The cave lion was around to Late Pleistocene modern from 500,000 to 2,000 years ago. It was around 7 to 8 feet long and around 700 and 800 pounds. It was a very large size with powerful limbs and manes and stripes. It was one of the most feared animals of the late Pleistocene epoch. The cave lion is technically classified as a subspecies of panthera leo. The modern lion, a verdict confirmed by genetic sequencing of the cave lions fossil remains.
