The Caux Roundtable principles were created in 1994 by a group of business leaders. The principles were to be utilized for business leadership worldwide that could possibly help improve ethical behavior (Caux Roundtable, 2014). Each principle was created from two basic ethical ideas, kyosei and human dignity. The idea of kyosei is defined as living and working together for the common good enabling cooperation and mutual prosperity. Human dignity means to sacredness or value of each person as an end, to simply as a mean to the fulfillment of others (Kyosei, 2014). Each of these resources, as a whole, focuses on guiding people to perform their job successfully and honestly. In Caux Roundtable’s third principles and Whites second principle, both discuss honesty and truthfulness. Each principle discusses how you as a person/business should go about conducting business but remaining truthful to everything that you do. The difference between the two is that Caux Roundtable focuses on the law and legal aspects of being truthful and how consequences will not be adverse after being honest. In contrast, White’s biblical principle suggest that no matter what consequences or failure that may occur you must be completely honest. He also acknowledges that being honest will be hard for most people but it is something that can be done and controlled. The second principle in Caux Roundtable addresses contribution to the community and enhancing all business resources. Caux Roundtable believes it is important for a business to be prosperous within their communities in order to be successful. Which means businesses will have to provide innovation. In comparison, Whites third biblical principle informs us that we should be servants. The guideline suggests that while working on or off the job you should serve your fellow man through Christ. In our jobs it is important to satisfy our customers and clients in order to build value in the company. Both of these principles are similar because they address giving to others and helping within the community. The main difference between the two is that the White’s biblical principle refers to the bible as a reference. For all of Whites biblical principles it can be used outside of the workplace, the guidelines are resourceful in everyday life dealing with our peers.
