Conversely, there has not been a lot of research done on the brain for people struggling with mental disorders to avert future suicides. Depression is the top risk factor of committed suicides followed by other mental disorders (bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, and personality disorders) (Khan 4). Startling, people know mental disorders are the leading cause of suicide but people do not have a reliable solution. People with depression or any other mental disorder have a chemical imbalance. On average, one person dies by suicide every 40 seconds somewhere in the world 1.8% of worldwide deaths are suicides, therefore, 1.62% of worldwide suicide deaths are people with mental illness at the time of their death (“International Suicide Statistics” 2). However, people have not considered innovative ways to prevent suicide deaths. People need to do more research on brains to discover solutions for mental disorders. Nowadays the only thing people do when they have a mental issue is go to the hospital and the doctor prescribes them ‘normal’ pills. Also no one monitors their pills. What if they stop taking them, what if they overdose, what if? Although, it would be ineffective if a person holds onto another person pills and gives them one at a set schedule. In fact, “Regrettably, drug poisoning is one of the least effective methods of suicide, which means that only around 2½% of attempted suicides by drug poisoning are successful.
