One of the many things that people enjoy doing is eating food. These days people are eating much more food than their body needs. Also they are having the lack of exercise. These problems have led them to obesity. As in an example in the article, “The Health Risk of Obesity” stated “Thirteen percent of adults aged eighteen and older are obese and 42 million children under the age of five were obese in 2013 due to the lack of nutrient and exercise.” (1). Obesity is a very serious condition of having an excessive amount of body fat that can be developed in two ways through genetics or chronically. A doctor of American Academy of Pediatrics, William D. Dietz (1998) also says, “Obesity has made a tremendous impact worldwide. Sixty five percent of the world’s population lives in countries where obesity has killed people. Among children it has nearly doubled in 1980 and tripled for adolescents” (1). Adding on, in the article, “Childhood Predictors of Adult Disease” indicates that “In America, obesity has killed over 300,000 people per year. Since, it is becoming more advanced and accessible to everyone. It has made a tremendous impact of obesity to increase among children. Also based on the article, “The Health Risk of Obesity” stated “Fifteen percent of children are obese from the excessive amount of usage of technology” (1). For an instance, in a 2005 survey from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (2015) found that American children age 8 to 18 spent an average of about six hours a day watching television and videos, playing video games, and using computers instead of physical activity (1). It lacks the amount of exercise a body needs and will create unhealthy eating habits. They consume more sugary snacks than eating fruits or vegetables.
