Internet Addiction

Internet Addiction is described as an impulse control disorder, which is very similar to pathological gambling. It stimulates the same part of the brain when someone becomes addicted to drug, gambling, or any other kind of addiction. Studies suggest that 1 in 8 Americans suffer from problematic Internet use. The estimates are higher in China, Taiwan, and Korea. About 30 percent or even more of the population may become a problematic Internet use.
There is a big influence of technology in on our daily life. Electronic devices, multimedia and computers are things we have to deal with everyday, especially the Internet. It is becoming more and more significant for nearly everybody as it is one of the newest and most modern media

You can use the Internet at home for personal or at work for professional usage. To spend a part of our day on the Internet is rather normal for many people. They use this technology to get information about all kinds matters. Some of them are interested in chatting; probably they are members of a community. Whatever is of your interest, you will find it. Even if you need very specific information, you will find it in a short time. The traditional way of looking up information is the no longer put to use. To put your own information on the Internet is also possible. Creating your own homepage to tell other users about your interests, what you want, that’s no problem at all.

Also many people turn to the Internet because of boredom they are constantly always checking their email, Facebook, instagram, other social networking websites or even just browsing the Internet. Some Internet users may develop an emotional attachment to on-line friends and activities they create on their computer screens. The similarities to other addictions, those suffering from Internet addiction use the world as a virtual fantasy to connect with real- life people through the Internet, as a substitution for real-life human connection, which they were incapable in achieving normally.
