No one child will develop all 50 symptoms. Some of the first signs of Autism are head banging and repetitive routines. However, if any of these routines are interrupted, he or she might loose control and start yelling and have a temper tantrum. Not only is it crucial that their daily routines are consistent but their environment also. This gives them a sense of order and allows them to feel secure. The reason this usually occurs is because children or adults with autism have a completely different sensory system. An example would be that some are oversensitive to light sometimes causing seizure. It has been recorded that about 75% of children that suffer from autism also suffer from epilectic seizures. This involves advances in cognitive ability but continue to lack interaction with others. One example is Asperger’s syndrome. For these children, their speech is normal, however, they have difficulty with conversations. Some children develop unusual interests and capabilities. Some become interested in natural science, complex calculations, computer programming. Some even develop savant skills. Savant syndrome is more common in boys than girls because most cases occur in children with autism. Only 1 in 10 children who have autism have savant skills. However, not all Savants are autistic. The most usual of all Savant skills is called splinter skills. This allows the individual to have amazing memory skills. It may be applied to anything that they might be interested in such as, math, music and art. In some cases a savant might be able to play the piano by ear and compose music. They can also memorize things like, the weather for everyday in their lives. The last ability is by the rarest and it’s the prodigious skills. Only about 25 people in the world have such abilities.
