Atherosclerosis is a cardio vascular disease that is described when the arteries thin and toughen. This disease starts when the endiolethem lining in the body gets hurt. It can be caused by multiple things such as smoking, high cholesterol or high blood pressure. Over time, a clutter of cholesterol and white blood cells make a panel in the artery. The symptoms do not usually show until older age, but it can cause pain or blood clots. This disease can also cause people to have strokes. Most of the treatments are actions people need to do or stop doing. A way to prevent is a person could exercise more, eat more fruits and vegetables, or stop smoking if they smoke. Another way doctors treat it is by giving medicine to control blood pressure and cholesterol. High blood pressure is an extremely common disease. It is defined as when blood pushes against the artery walls over a large amount of time and causes health issues. There are not any specific symptoms, but a person can have headaches, shortness of breath or nosebleeds. There are two types of high blood pressure: primary hypertension and secondary hypertension.
