Poverty impacts every culture in different ways and forms. One of the biggest struggles is identifying what areas are in need of support. Facing …show more content…
Currently 780 million people do not have access to clean water (unwater.org). Most of those without water are due to drought. When water becomes scarce many migrate to others villages in search of it. This process continually depletes resources around the continent and leads to more people in need for water.(The Water Project). A an average person in Great Britain uses 150 liters of water on an average basis where most people on sub sahara Africa can only use around 20 liters (Seagar). Even mild dehydration can lead to horrible dizziness and make standing up unbearable. Ultimately dehydration leads to heart failure(Seagar). Another result of lack of water is that food prices great increase. Without enough food it is very easy for many to slip into starvation as well as dehydration. One solution to this issue is to put system to recycle water. Doing this allows for countries to rely less on imports and become more self sufficient. Through this waste water can be used for almost anything. It takes away the the risk of becoming ill from the necessity to using contaminated water. More advanced technology makes this solution cheaper and more available for countries in need(Circle of Blue). Another solution would be to reinvest in the current water distribution system. The system in place currently bursts frequently and waste precious water that could be given to those in need. The current sewage systems in place overflow and contaminate water sources. This could hopefully prevent disease and help more people access their water(Circle of Blue). Water is extremely complicated to distribute and needs its current distribution methods to be
