Parents push a lot of stress onto their kids because they either have a future already in mind for their child or they have high expectations, and sometimes too high for their child. Faculty from student’s schools can also cause stress because of the push to meet deadlines and to do well on their assignments so that they can pass. “College students certainly need additional attention and assistance from supportive resources during this economic contraction” (Guo, Johnson, and Wang 6). Students need additional attention so that they will not be able to turn inwards into themselves, away from people who could help and be able to support them. A solution to decreasing stress in college students would be for faculty members to learn how to see signs of stress in their students so they can help them and not allow them to develop psychological and physical health problems. Another solution would be to teach students how to support themselves in times of high levels of stress so they could not turn towards problems such as depression. By learning to support themselves or having someone else support them, college students can begin to regain their confidence so that they can believe in themselves, knowing that they can do the task that is set before them. When a faculty member pushes their student to turn assignments in and receive good grades, it creates stress. Though having stress has negative effects, stress can push a student to do their best and learn time management skills (Guo, Johnson, and Wang
