Organized crime has existed ever since there was a legal system telling people what to do. There are always going to be those who go against the law and try to make easy money. The range of things they are capable of has since developed as the world develops, especially with mediums of communication such as the Internet ([Jean-Pierre Charbonneau] on [Globalization of Crime], Module 1, Slide 3). It It connects the world at the click of the button. The internet makes a lot of things easier, for instance you can pay your bills online instead of having to mail or even go to the store. This type of crime is seen on a daily basis on the internet through the use of mail, the Internet, telephones and it costs people billions when money is stolen from them after they give their personal information online thinking that it is legit. They disguise their scams under other means like service, prize (e.g. sweepstakes/lottery and gift), purchase or merchandise, sale of merchandise, job, vacation, collection agency and charity(Danis, Module 5, Slide 17). At this point this gives criminal organizations access to individuals in their homes, a place that is supposed to be filled with comfort and safety. This is a good reason why it is important to want to lessen organized crime because it creates a dangerous environment in the outside world and even in people 's homes. Most of their operations hurt people economically, but there has been times in which people have died due to the violence of organized crime such as Daniel Desrocher. These activities by all means are very common as they are of the highest crimes most frequently commited by organized crime groups in Canada. The illegal traffic of firearms is done by approxiamately 71 per cent and drug trafficking is done by 88 per cent(Crimes Commited, Module 1, Slide 1. However, it they often overshadow the more darker and immoral activities that take place in the world of organized crime. The total profit that is made by human trafficking is 31,654 USD. dollars. This ranges from economic and sexual exploitation, however the higher numbers lie in the sexual factor. This happens worldwide, even in industrialized countries. In fact, the highest number of both sexual and economic profits happen in industrialized countries with 67,000 in the sexual section and 30,154 dollars in the economic (Danis, Module 5, Slide 1). The type of people that get involved in these activities are vulnerable, poor, and/or weak. This is a similarity in almost every activity that they participate in is that it is hurtful to the lives of others while they are gaining profit. They are taking from the lives of others, in this case without their consent. For instance, sometimes they might put out an ad advertising for a job, when in reality they plan on taking advantage of the woman upon arrival and forcing her into this
