Bullying is not a new problem, but it is one that has a profound impact on the learning aptitude of many students today. Cyberbulling has become a major issue for schools, as evidenced by the number of suicides that can be directly traced to bullying events. Cyberbullying is defined as when someone repeatedly harasses, mistreats, or makes fun of another person online or while using cell phones or other electronic devices. The fact that laws are still fuzzy regarding cyberbullying adds to the challenge since the parents, teachers and administrators are unsure of how to legally handle such issues. According to the Cyberbullying Research Center done by Justin W. Patchin, they have been collecting data from middle and high school students since 2002.
