Child Abuse At Home Essay

Ever since I was young, I have heard about children being abused in the news and in movies. I have always had a very strong feeling for the victims of abuse. I have two younger sisters and I could never imagine them being abused by someone, especially our own parents. I have always wondered what makes a parent want to hit and beat their child at all. My parents have loved me and my sisters more than anything in this world since we were born and have had zero tolerance for hitting and kicking. I absolutely adore children. They have always had a huge soft part in my heart. I work in an elementary school and one of my responsibilities is to tell anyone if we suspect a child being abused at home. Some parents think that having a child is just a burden in their life and that they have better things to do than take care of their own children. Some parents will leave their toddlers to fend for themselves before the child knows how to do so properly. Children of neglect are forced to grow up more quickly than they should have to. Some children never get to actually experience being a kid. Worst of all, many children who are neglected often end up dying. In the news, about a month ago, there was a story about how a mother and her boyfriend locked their two year old son in his bedroom for two days, turned on the heater, and went across the hall to their bedroom to make meth, The child 's room got to hot that the little boy ended up basically cooking to death. The police say that even if the child had not died from the heat, he would have died from starvation or dehydration. Some states even have safe houses that parents who do not want to take care of their children can go and drop them off just so murders like this do not happen.
