Gang violence in schools is becoming more dangerous and noticeable each year. Kids are getting more involved in gangs every day. The youth is more likely to drop out when they have relations with gangs. To try and decrease the dropout rate and the population of the youth in gangs we can provide safer transportation to school, change student classes , or even attempt to make school fun or non miserable to the students that attend.
Teens are dropping out of school because they do not have a safe way to get to school or to get home safely after school. The students are afraid to go to school because of gang violence(schargel). Research shows a high school dropout in ineligible for 90% of the jobs a high school graduate is(dale). Staying in school longer can earn you more money in the long run. If you dropout of high school you are more likely to make less money in your lifetime. The difference in lifetime earnings can be 260,000 dollars(dale). That is a lot of money. Teachers must focus and keep on motivating their students. Teachers should be friendly and help as much as possible. Teachers must commit time into whatever they are doing whether it be helping a student or creating a worksheet. The teachers must keep on motivating and never give up until the student talks to the teacher about it or the student gets better and graduates. Teacher can often find motivational quotes online or even possibly motivational stories to motivate their students. While motivating the students the teachers should also make it fun for the students. The teachers can make games or not be sad all the time to make it more fun for the students. Many students enjoy school while they have fun at it, but for some students that is not the case.
