Suicide. Suicide is the “act of taking one’s own life”. This act is very prevalent in the United States, so widespread that it was classified as the 10th leading cause of death in the United States for all ages. Suicide alone kills approximately one hundred five Americans each day, that is forty-one thousand one hundred forty-nine people that took their own life in 2013. There is a lot of people out there wishing they could have prevented there loved one from committing this act, but did not know how. Suicide is something that can be prevented if you pay attention to what is going on in a particular persons life. Suicide can be prevented amongst teens by limiting their social media time and know what going on; looking for signs, and lastly seeking help can also help prevent this act from growing in the United States. …show more content…
Every second, every minute someone is writing a tweeting, snapping, or face booking something about someone, not knowing that what he or she post can cause someone to take their life. Limiting teenagers’ time on social media can prevent four thousand five hundred suicidal deaths amongst teens. Keeping teens active and off of social media, will prevent them from seeing post that are meant for them to see and that are written to intentionally hurt him. In addition to limiting teen’s social media activity, parents can also monitor what is being sent to their child and everything that their child is sending. This can help because by parents knowing what is going on, they can put a stop to before it gets too out of
