• Jati – It tells about caste or refers to the birth. It is process of crystallization of work, job or occupation of people.
Communities are regarded as ST under Article 342. These people were marginalised on the basis of primitive traits, geographical isolation, distinct culture, eating habits, less knowledge, less control over lands, lack of moral values and economically backward than other streams.
POPULATION STATISTICS AND GEOGRAPHICAL AREA
In 2011 census the total count of STs living in India was 104.2 million which was 84.3 million in 2001. So it rises from 8.2% to 8.6% of total population of India. The growth rate in population of STs was 23.7% from 2001 to 2011. As per first theory these people adopt unhealthy life style and do not bother about the consequences of that. Some studies states that the tribal women are more prone for HIV/AIDS as many of them commence sexual activity at an early age and get married early as well. They belongs to that culture which allows extra-marital sex and this exposes women to that situation where risk for acquiring HIV is very high. They move in search of work and intimate with others as they are not restricted. The males of STs show dominant behaviour and are free to have sex with any female that rises the chances of getting HIV/AIDS as it is a STD. Next theory too play a vital role for this health inequality in these people as they are not receiving the proper education, awareness and health facilities that can control the spread of HIV/AIDS. As they are living in isolated area where the health facilities are not well developed or are at lower level. They are not getting education and information about disease, its causes and control because their living areas are far away from the developed living areas which is difficult for leaders to cover for spread of facilities. They do not know about NEWS, newspapers and radio which are the best source for awareness and information. So these are factors that result in this
