The Cast Of Amontillado 'And A Sound Of Thunder'

As a couple of survivors are desperately trying to find a way out of the deadly city, they had to cover them sleeves with rotten body part so they could blend in and not be sensed by the walkers. As the survivors were finding a way out through the walkers, it's the same in a short story as if someone was trying to do something with out being caught. The author uses suspense in the stories, suspense is the excitement of the reader to determine how the story ends. Richard Connells "the most dangerous game," Edgar Allen Poes "the Cast of Amontillado," and Ray Bradburys " A Sound of Thunder." are very short stories but, there never short on suspense.The author of these short stories use conflict, irony, and foreshadowing by making the readers think how the stories and how they might change by suspense and to keep them reading. …show more content…
In "The Sniper," the author uses conflict to see how the readers would react to the battle going on between the Free stater and the Republican sniper.In "The Cast of Amontillado," irony makes the readers assume that Montressor is getting his revenge with out Fortunato knowing about the plan of Montressors revenge of killings Fortunato. In "A Sound of Thunder," the author uses foreshadowing that makes the readers think what is going to happen in the future, since Eccles killed a butterfly. The author is a lot like the survivors wanting the audience to feel the suspense that the desperate survivors are feeling, compared to the short
