A summary of this short story 'The Cask of Amontillado' is about a gentleman called Montresor who elects to strive for revenge against a young man named Fortunato. Montresor claimed Fortunato gave him an abundance of injuries that he suffered for a long time. Montresor then tells him that he had a thing of Amontillado wine but isn’t sure that the wine is legit. Montresor guides him throughout the family mausoleum whilst tempting him about the wine and then buries him alive Montresor, the key character, has many complicated traits. A few of the noticeable traits that Montresor has is that he is easily upset, he automatically presumes the worst out of others, and he is incredibly detailed. Montresor possesses these traits to achieve his purpose
