The leaders were entrusted with a huge role in how the hospital would be successful and in my opinion they did an amazing job. Leaders had to not only be accountable for their own actions but also for the actions of the staff. With the hiring of Beverly Barton, R.N as the clinical outcome specialist whose job consist of 80% of her time dedicate to making sure the core measure of the hospital was being carried out, to the medical staff that made sure that patients were being taken care of and that policy and procedures were being met. By establishing concurrent reviews helped the leaders identify those cases that are not in compliance with policy. By completing employee report cards the leaders could review the employees progress and review them for their strength and weakness and help those employees in their weak areas. By sharing evidence based literature between the doctors encourage other doctors to accept the recommendation of the care practices of the organization in this case it was the administering the antibiotics. The leadership of THMMC was overall the driving force that made it possible for the hospital to achieve 2007 Quality award and the 2007 Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Award. Healthcare is a very challenging work place. With all the normal roles and procedures in the business world, healthcare faculties are not only governed by the rules and regulations of the organization but also by the federal government. Just like any good working ship it takes participation from everyone to make sure the organization is running correctly. This study shows that by healthcare faculties working in conjunction with a lager partner they not only offers a better market for the consumers but also offers a great resource for the employees as well. By giving them different people to bounce ideas off of and giving them different viewpoints to better serve the patients as well as by coming up with new and fresh ideas which will help the organization as a whole.
