PepsiCo, Inc. is a successful company that operates worldwide selling beverages like Pepsi, 7up, Mountain Dew, Mirinda, Lipton, Tropicana, Gatorade, Brisk, Mist Twist, Aquafina and Starbucks, as well as foods under the brand of Frito-Lay, Inc. that offers products such as Quaker, Walkers, Lay’s, Fritos, Doritos, etc.
In 1902, Due to the increase in popularity of the new soft drink Pepsi, the behemoth we know today was known as Pepsi-Cola, a small company established in 1902 by Caleb Bradham, a pharmacist from New Bern, North Carolina. The growing popularity of the soft drink and their subsequent products allowed them to merge with Frito-Lay, another brand that was born from the merging of two companies (Frito Company and H.W. Lay & Company)

Two years prior to their expansion, one of the most popular snacks in the United Sates came to life: Doritos. Pepsi-Cola expanded even further by being the first American product to be sold in the Soviet Union in 1974.
As the year passed, PepsiCo, Inc. managed to continue its path into becoming a powerful company not only in sales, but by acquiring other famous names such as Pizza Hut, Inc. in 1977, and Taco Bell in 1978. PepsiCo also made history in 1984 by creating an advertisement featuring Michael Jackson and his brothers to capture the young, rebel audience that was becoming a trend, with the now famous line “You’re the Pepsi generation.”
The 1980s where great times for many people, and PepsiCo, Inc. had even greater business deals pouring in. They acquired Mug Root Beer and Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) in 1986. Their new advertisement campaign included “The Chase,” a four- part ad of Pepsi featuring Michael Jackson, which became the most-watched commercial in advertising history in 1988. He started his career in Boston Consulting Group (BCG) he worked his way to be the senior partner over 25 years of his career. One interesting and noble thing that PepsiCo, Inc. did this year is that PepsiCo Foundation announced in September 22nd that they will provide $2 million in grants to help the countries affected by the recent natural disasters that shook the world (mainly Mexico City after the earthquake, and Puerto Rico and the Caribbean after the devastating effects of hurricane Maria).
