Coca Cola, a world known name for soda has been around for 129 years. It has become America’s favorite go to drink for a refreshing beverage that goes with just about everything Coca Cola was introduced in the United States in 1944, when it reached the homes of all our ancestors. Coca cola is a traditional beverage that has been past down from generation to generation simply because of its comfortable taste that we are so familiar with because of our families own traditions. After Coca Cola was introduced, Pepsi came out with a similar product. Pepsi has been around for 122 years but wasn’t introduced in the United States until 1939. America’s Choice brand is a generic brand owned by Food Basics USA. They are a lower priced store brand product. With these three brands in mind, we came to the realization that brand plays an important role in which product the interview participants preferred. Out of a total of 25 participants, 10 liked Coke, 8 liked Pepsi and 7 liked America’s Choice. Coke mainly targets the age range 17-25 as the young adult era. Coke is successfully selling in over 200 countries but not only to the younger generation, but also families. In a study on BlogSpot, customers said “this perception of the brand by the consumer leads to a high degree of loyalty and makes the purchasing decision more automatic. Coca Cola has been successful by using Unique Selling preposition as “Live the Coke side of life”, related to joy and happiness.” Families prefer to purchase Coca Cola because of the positive image it exudes.
