Henry Ford was an amazing mechanic who started the production of of the Ford industry and is one of the leading car production companies in the world. “His model-T made about 23 horsepower and could reach up to 20 miles per hour.”(motor sport). There were about 15 million made between 1908 and 1927. The model-T would soon surpass other vehicles in this time. This car was very popular at the time because it was the fastest and most reliable vehicle compared to others such as the “rover eight that was air cooled with a three speed gearbox.”(motor sport). The production of cars that were affordable to almost anyone boosted the economy and provided easy transportation for all families within the middle class or higher. Also in nineteen-twenty three the country was still dealing with some segregation, mainly in the south. The Ford Motor Company employed almost half the company with African-Americans.
