Career Values Scale Report: Psychometrics

The Career Values Scale Report (CVS) is a Psychometrics assessment tool that looks at how an individuals’ personal values influence their career path. Career values can be defined as facets that individuals find important in relation to their work life. An individual may complete it before entering the work force or if they are looking to switch careers. Completing this assessment allows an individual to gauge what they are interested in as well as what they are not interested in. After completion, the CVS can be scored online, mailed in or faxed in to be scored. There are 88 items individuals score when completing the assessment. These items are reflective of the ten different career values. They are Service Orientation, Teamwork, Influence, …show more content…
Her answers show that she values helping others and being close to others. This indicates that she may like to work in a helping profession where she can be a resource for others. The client’s score of eight on Team Orientation outlines that she like to work with a team. Her answers show that she likes to give and receive encouragement and collaborate with others. This indicates that she may want to work in an environment where she can build strong relationships with her co-workers. The client’s score of three on Influence indicates that she most likely does not want to be the boss. Her answers show that she does not want to take a leadership position in an organization. This indicates that she can be satisfied with being involved and contributing her knowledge. The client’s score of one on Creativity outlines that she likes to follow policy. Her answers show that she does not like to come up with new ideas in the workplace. This indicates that she can be satisfied using methods that are proven successful. The client’s score of one on Independence outlines that she does not like to come up with decisions by herself. Her answers indicate that she likes to work in an environment with defined rules. This indicates that she enjoys following the direction of others but will also benefit from a supportive supervisor. The client’s score of two on Excitement outlines that she likes to work in a stable work environment. Her answers show that she does not need a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment. This indicates that she wants to work in an environment where her roles are defined. The client’s score of six on Career Development outlines that she likes to use her current knowledge but also develop herself personally and professionally. Her answers show that she will be happy to engage in professional development activities in her workplace but she does not need it
