I graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango Colorado in 1997 with a degree in Business Administration. After college I moved to Denver and started working as a Property Claims Adjustor for Farmers Insurance. After a few years of working I realized I wasn’t fulfilled with my career path and decided to move into healthcare. I started school again and received an Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy (RT) in 2004. In 2004, I started working for Banner Health at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley Colorado. It is a 250 bed acute care hospital in Northern Colorado. In 2009, I decided I needed a little adventure in my life and took a job as an RT in Jeddah Saudi Arabia. I worked and lived there for two and a half years. After my Middle Eastern extravaganza I moved back to Northern Colorado and began working for Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver. But don’t they say “what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger”? I am learning to prioritize my time and get things done. I am not going to put pressure on myself for completing my degree in a certain amount of time. If I need to take a session off I will, with the understanding that I will finish what I
