A Career Essay: The Career Of Mechanical Engineering

I have chosen the career of Mechanical Engineering for my paper. The reason why I choose this career for my 5-10 year plan was because I have very interested in things like prototyping, designing, and building machines and other types of tools that we use in our daily lives. Mechanical engineers make people’s lives better and easier. I find this interesting because it inspires me to become one of them.
Mechanical engineering is a job that has a lot of value because our world or society today relies on the use of technology and mechanical engineering plays a huge role because most electronic things are built by engineers. Once I earn my associate’s degree from Roxbury community college then the next step for me would be to earn my bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering but there are only a few colleges who offer the engineering field.

After I graduate from Wentworth with my bachelor’s degree in engineering I would probably go after my master’s degree because the higher education you have in this field the better position you have and the better you get paid. “A master 's degree, or even a Ph.D., may be necessary to obtain some positions, such as those in research, teaching, and administration”.
The next phase would probably be to find a job after getting my master’s and the next step and the school help you with that process. Many mechanical engineers find their first job through their college or university career services office. Many companies send recruiters to college campuses to interview and sign up engineering graduates. Whether it is getting a job at NASA or at private engineering and aerospace companies and I would like to work for NASA because engineers at NASA make more money than those who work at private companies . “The typical NASA Mechanical Engineer salary is $72,389.
