Long work hours will occur, because there will always be deadlines to meet and new projects starting as soon as one ends. Physical working conditions are usually done indoors, allowing interaction with others to be limited. A fashion designer frequently has to sit at a drafting table and spends long hours standing, leaning and cutting fabric and patterns. Working conditions can appear to be repetitive and tedious, but if you have a passion for it and excel, it can be very rewarding. Employers prefer their applicants to have an Associate degree or most a Bachelor degree in fashion design. If the applicant is familiar with fabrics and textiles and demonstrate artistic talent, it will increase their hiring process.
