Assignment 3: Pursuing A Career In Communications

I decided to pick three careers that related to Communications since that is the major I am sticking with.There are many jobs that can come out of being a communications major. Communications is very broad, so there are many possibilities. One career that I would enjoy would be Vice President of Public Relations and Corporate Communications. This is a board level executive who oversees all the official messaging. This position provides coaching points to relevant managers on media inquires. They would also work with marketing and branding within the company. They are usually the main person that is proactive and positive. The average salary for this job is around $53,038 per year. It can vary though with bonuses. Most people think of campaign managers as individuals who run political campaigns but these people can also work for a large-scale company that runs advertising promotions and hires managers for the campaign. They create plans, develop, and coordinate events. They also are very effective with data collecting and works with marketing and creative terms to make budgets for a campaign. To work as a campaign manager it is recommended that a person needs a bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor is business, marketing, or a similar field. It is recommended to be trained in statistics as well. Campaign managers normally work regular business hours but can require extensive hours overtime if the campaign is coming close to the launch date. Typically you would work within an office and sometimes you get to travel. I would love this job because I feel like I am the type of person that is really good at promoting things and being able to convince others. I like that travel could be involved because I love traveling. I really could see myself in this career
