I have chosen the career as educator because I like to make a difference in people’s lives. The young students are our future leaders and workers. They will make or break the American nation. If I can use my life experiences and motivation to give them the inspiration that they can make it through hard times, such as a test or other school activity, then the gift of a smile from them will be everlasting in my memory. This path can be very challenging at times, especially when you deal with the unpredictable behavior of Autistic children.
My Strengths as an Educator
The skills that I feel are my strengths are collaborative, respectful, researching, and adaptable. Collaborative permits me to be able to work well with all the teachers who require assistance with certain students. Often times, I have to talk to the grade level instructor and review topics that require extra training. If that child feels that no harm (words or actions) will come to them then they are more liable to voice their opinion or even information on a subject. A teacher shows his or her caring by noticing a change in the behavior of a student and attempting to provide a respectful personality and actively listen to that child’s problems. No matter how miniscule it might seem, the problem could have a major impact on that child’s life. This is where the teacher should drop their authoritative attitude and become a
