I believe that is answering God’s call in our life. When we choose to ignore God, we feel unsatisfied. Guinness makes a point in his book, The Call, “for the secret of man’s being is not only to live...but to live for something definite…”. I believe that Guinness is showing us that we can not be fulfilled or content until we fill ourselves with God and His calling for us. Romans 8:28-30 states “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose. For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those He predestined, He also called; those He called He also justified; those He justified He also glorified” (Romans 8:28-30 New International Version). Notice the line about those who have been called according to His purpose. He works good for them. He works to help them succeed and come closer to Him. Some scholarly interpreters insist that the passages usage of the word “foreknew” means God knew something about us ahead of time and that we were “predestined” (Moo 2000). It is usually thought that God knew that certain persons would respond positively to the gospel and believe (Moo …show more content…
Throughout our life God will provide us with different “station callings” as we enter those different areas of our life (Schultze 2005). As we grow and mature in our relationships with Christ, God will most likely call us to enter new unknowns. A personal example, this summer I went on a mission trip to Poland. I largely went on this trip because I wanted to travel and complete some “bucket list” items. However, within one day of being at the English Camp I felt like God was really laying something on my heart. This mission trip was doing so much on my heart. I had never felt so in love with my surrounding and I loved working with the children and building so many relationships. My ultimate joy was knowing that I had a role in helping these children learn and build relationships with God. My heart was called. It was then that I realized God may be changing or adding to my Calling, by calling me back to Poland to continue teaching, only for a more permanent stay. Over the past several of weeks, I have begun praying on whether to apply for the summer internship where I would work at the camp for 8 weeks next summer. That is definitely a scary decision to make, and I want to accurately answer God’s call. As we enter new stages of our life, God will call us to grow in our faith and reach others in new and unique ways. God will call us
