RIPON - The Calaveras High School baseball season came to an abrupt end in an out bracket game of the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division V championships. On Monday afternoon, No. 10 Calaveras fell to No. 7 Ripon 11-1 in a five inning game.
It was the third inning that hurt Calaveras. Ripon took advantage of a number of Calaveras errors and scored seven times to take an 8-0 lead. Calaveras committed six errors in the loss.
Sophomore Logan Lamborn drove in Calaveras’ only run with a seeing eye ground ball down the third base line in the top of the fourth inning. Lamborn’s single knocked in senior Joe Celli.
Sophomore Zack Nordahl had the best day at the plate, going 2 for 3. Joe Celli went 1 for 2 with a run scored. Dominic
