Cabin story

It was a hot summer day me and my family and my friend Anneke were packing up to go camping trip at the lake. We have been there many times but we have heard that there is a new trail you can go through. We were just getting ready to head out the door when we realized we forgot our dog in my room. Me and Anneke ran up stairs and got my dog grabbed a leash and went out the door. Sooner or later we got to the lake and we set up the three roomed tent for me and Anneke while my mom and step dad set up the camper for them and my brother and sister. After we were done setting up our things me and Anneke asked my mom if she would like to go with us to walk around the new trail.

With girls in dresses and boys working in fields picking corn and houses made out of sod and hay. We both looked at each other and said "oh no we are back in the times when people lived in cabins". We saw this old lady and she was cleaning out her cabin and the put a sign that said "For Sale in red letters. Me and Anneke decided to go inside and as we did we saw this little doll that had torn cloths.

The doll said to find the house with the cows and you will find your way home. So me and Anneke went to the back door and left the cabin with the doll in my hands. We were walking for what seemed like forever until we saw the house with cows. Anneke and I took a step through the front door and the portal sucked us in and we were back to the old house right where we left.. It seemed as it nothing has changed. So after the rest of the tour me Anneke and my mom walked back to our camp site and we told my dad and sister all about it and before we knew it it was time to go to bed.

But before we went to sleep me and Anneke were talking about going back to the old cabin tomorrow to see what new adventures it might have in store for us

In today’s modern society, it is hard to grasp the concept of the institution of slavery; however, it was a harsh reality for millions of African Americans during early United States history. Although slavery was an enormous and profitable system for the white Americans, growing zeal for the abolition of slavery increased leading up to the Civil War. Family values, white job protection, and Christian morals were the most influential underlying forces in the growing opposition and resentment toward slavery from 1776 to 1852. Family values were a key component in Southern culture, and in the years leading up to the Civil War, an increasing number of individuals realized the damagingly tight grip that the institution of slavery had on families. The second great awakening not only created a change in gender roles for women,…
