If someone were to look up "the top 20 safest cities in Georgia," this person would find my hometown at spot number seven on this list of cities. I like to call my home town the bubble. Peachtree City, Georgia is its own unique little world directly south of Atlanta. It's a world where everyone drives around on golf carts, where crime is almost unheard of, and where the whole city acts as an interconnected community. Nothing much happens in the bubble, but that is what makes this place feel so untouched and safe. It is where my dad grew up; it is where I grew up. I am lucky enough to have always had a sheltered, stable life where I never encountered anything bad, and where I was surrounded by my closest friends since second grade. The Bubble has always been my home, …show more content…
Now I live in Athens, Georgia, and my life here is nothing like what it was a year ago. Here in Athens, the city that never sleeps, I am experiencing a new way of life. There is always something going on, and I have to decide for myself how I should spend my time. No longer am I able to stay reserved and comfortable because I have my steadfast friend group with me which I have had since second grade; I have to put myself out of my comfort zone and befriend new people and make my own choices of who to surround myself with. My life in Athens is nothing like my life in the bubble, but change is good. Although it is scary, it is good. I love this nonstop work hard play hard life style; I was ready to leave the bubble and be on my own for a change. But by moving away, it has opened my eyes to aspects of my life that I never noticed before: other reasons why Peachtree City was such a great place to grow up. I used to to be bored of how there was nothing to do in Peachtree City and how everyone knows everything about each other's business, but now I enjoy it. Each time I come back to the bubble, my life in the bubble

ASAP academic advisor and professor, Uriah Brown, published The Black Bubble on December 11, 2015. The Black Bubble was a term he created to portray the bubble that the African Americans had been placed in as well as known as “the black experience.” “The Black Bubble is a term I created. It means, that black people have been placed in it and this bubble represents a barrier to success where African Americans cannot move up the ladder to become successful CEO’s, managers, directors,” said Brown. “They can’t move up in an organization because of racism.…

Because of this, I am finding myself beginning to feel right at home in the south. For me, home is where there is a bit of craziness. Much like what I have been experiencing since my arrival at North Greenville University. I feel most at ease when there are traffic jams, crowds of unmoving people, and areas of loud rackets. All in all, since my relocation to Boiling Springs, the hectic lifestyle that I left behind is all beginning to reappear before my eyes.…

America is often referred to as “The Melting Pot” due to the many different cultures and ethnicities residing here. This is one of the many explanations as to why America is the greatest country on earth. Diversity can be very powerful when it’s embraced. Every individual is completely different and offers his own set of strengths, views and beliefs. I do not believe it is my duty to understand all people or the choices they choose.…

3 ml of white vinegar impacted the lives of the most bubbles. After 3 trials, I concluded that vinegar increased bubble life by about 13.89 seconds. It was the most effective of all the ingredients. All other substances only changed life by about one to five seconds. It was also where we created a bubble that lasted the longest of all our other tests.…

In 2005 over 1,283,000 family homes were sold throughout the U.S. housing market according to U.S. Statistics. This was a larger number of houses sold compared to previous years with a range of 609,000 houses being sold per year. This was expansion, with lower interest rates, economic booms, and most people living in houses they couldn’t really afford if you looked into their finances. This is what later created negative home equity balances, and forecloses along with many evictions. Before the collapse of the housing bubble more and more people thought at least that they were “living the American…

A community environment serves an important function in shaping our personal development and belief system. The community an individual grows up in says a lot about that individual as a person. With strengths, comes weaknesses and every community differs in many ways. The community I grew up in may differ from the community others lived in, and that’s what makes us all unique and different from one another. No matter if you live on Grand View Drive or you live on the south side of Chicago each community has its different problems, and just because someone may live in a different neighborhood than you doesn’t mean you are complete polar opposites it just means you experience obstacles differently in your daily routine and that is completely…

Coming from a small town down south, opportunities were not always present. Living with a single mom of two there was never time for me to focus on what I wanted to do. The future never seemed this close, stepping into adulthood without a plan was disheartening. I slowly slipped into the wrong crowd and made decisions I wasn’t proud of. I left North Carolina in 2014 to live in Massachusetts with my dad and stepmom before continuing my descent down the rabbit hole.…

The past four years have been quite a crazy ride. I live in a town in Queens New York called Glendale, I have lived here for about ten years. The eight years before that I lived in Maspeth, Queens. Glendale is really a homey town, everyone either knows you or knows about you. It’s both a good thing and a bad thing, good because if your ever in trouble there are people around you to help; however, if you get in trouble there are people around to snitch on you.…

Just when I thought my life was falling out if my hands, everything started blossoming up. It all started back when I was in sixth grade in Kuwait, where I grew up with the most wonderful siblings one could ask for, two brothers, and two sisters. One of my sisters had already moved to Canada with her husband, my other sister and one of my brothers were moving to Jordan for college, and my other brother was thinking of moving to the United States for a job opportunity. My parents were also thinking of leaving Kuwait since we had no family left there. They decided they wanted to move to Jordan.…

When I first came back to Smithville I had no idea what to expect. I had heard tons of stories about what the kids had been doing and it honestly scared me. Moving towards the end of the school year is hard enough but then when you add extra anxiety on top of that it’s even worse. Everyone that I used to know so well had changed completely and there were so many people who probably didn’t even remember me, which was expected because who cares about that girl who’s been here for 6 years who says absolutely nothing most of the time. Everyone had new groups of friends and I had no idea which of the groups I would be allowed to join, it seemed as if my friends had split and I had to make a choice.…

Change can be difficult for someone my age, or any age really. At the beginning of the school year, I moved from Bentonville, Arkansas, to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, which came with all sorts of changes. Some of the challenges I faced included making new friends, adjusting to my new life in Broken Arrow, and finding my way and where I belong in a new place. Unfortunately, when I moved I realized how difficult making friends was, especially since I did not know a single person at Broken Arrow.…

Change has been a big deal in my life since I was three years old. The reason being because my parents were divorced in 2004, so I was used to changing situations at a very young age. I got very good at this because I had a new surprise waiting for me almost every time I would go to the other parent’s house. I never knew whether it would be a good surprise or not. Because of this there was a lesson that I learned at a younger age than most people.…

    (1) Currently, I am not too happy with what is going on with my life right now. I am not too happy because I feel somewhat isolated and alone sometimes. I live on campus and I am in a coed fraternity, but I feel that I am not living a “college student’s life” so to speak. I don’t like to “party” and I can be pretty quiet at times, and I feel like that makes me somewhat of an “outcast” from the world. I don’t want to change myself of course, but I sometimes wish people could accept me more for who I am and respect the fact that I don’t like to do super crazy things.…
