It has been six days since Phil started working at The Brim. And Dan shows up at 6:38 without fail every day, mostly because every day he is greeted by Phil’s warm smile, and ecstatic, yet melodic voice.
Today is Sunday. Normally, Dan reserves Sunday's for sleeping in and binging on pizza and Tumblr, a relaxing break from his ever constant concentration.
But he once again finds himself walking into The Brim, at the asscrack of dawn just to see Phil.

When he strolls into the coffee shops, Dan is greeted with the familiar aroma of coffee beans. He walks up to the counter to says hello to the eternally effervescent Philip and order. But before Dan could even get a word out, Phil slides his usual drink across the counter. An iced chai with soy milk.

Introduction When you think of having a cup of coffee on the go in Southern California, you usually think of Starbucks, the iconic coffee roaster, which has over 17,018 stores worldwide. If you live in Northern California, however, there is another well-known coffee roaster that appears to rival Starbucks in its popularity, Peet's Coffee and Tea. Like Starbucks, who began its legacy in Seattle, Washington as a small independent coffee bar, Peet's Coffee and Tea also started as an individually owned coffee roaster selling its coffee in Berkeley, California. In the San Francisco Bay Area as well as Northern California, Peet's Coffee and Tea holds its own against the better known Starbucks. In this report, I will explore the web sites to find…

Stories are made up of different literary elements such as the setting, plot, conflicts, and the overall theme of the story itself. Stories such as The Lottery and The Hobbyist showed such elements, which is why I picked those stories to show their differences. The Hobbyist by Fredric Brown is about a man named Mr. Sangstrom wanting to kill his wife, and asking a man called the druggist to help him by poisoning her. The situation quickly shifts for the worse as Mr. Sangstrom was tricked and poisoned by the druggist, and having to write a confession letter to the homicide detail in exchange for a possible antidote. In The Lottery by Shirley Jackson, villagers in an unnamed village participate in a traditional lottery draw, though the winners don’t actually win anything, but are instead stoned to death by the villagers.…

Starbucks has one simple mission, which is “To inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time.” It is this mission statement which has contributed to the development of the brand over the past four decades, as it is found in Starbucks more than just a coffee shop.
